How to Develop Android Applications and Increase Revenue

android

Google’s Android phones overtook iPhone sales in the third quarter of 2010. Consequently, there has appeared a brand new, promising generation of smartphones, creating unique opportunities for app developers and smartphone users.

Though Android phone users still use less apps than iPhone users, the Android app marker is more than likely to develop and grow rapidly. Companies specializing in app development may be concerned about how to develop successful Android applications which might increase profit and still be unique. However, the Android app market is not so filled with offers as the iPhone market, so there is still plenty of room for app development companies and their unique projects.

Since the Android market seems to be quite attractive, the question is how to develop Android applications to increase profit. Currently, more and more Android app developers for hire are offering their services on the market. It is important therefore, to assess a potential developer carefully in terms of their technical expertise as well as creativity. Android app developers for hire should also be able to bring innovation to the client’s unique concept, so that the created product would be unique, standing alone, in an untapped segment of the overall market.

With the fast growing popularity of Android smartphones among corporate structures and individuals, developing apps for Android is undoubtedly going to become a surefire way of gaining profit for many software designers and app developers.

Smartphone Application Development Market – Trends and Unique Opportunities

smartphones
The ever growing use of mobile phones, and more specifically smartphones, offers developers unique opportunities for creating smartphone apps and smartphone application development tools which increase their profits and raise brand awareness. The rapid development of 3G Internet, GPS means that more and more customers are choosing smartphones as a reliable tool for business communication, shopping and leisure.

The most targeted operating systems at present are Apple OS 4.0, RIM’s BlackBerry 5.0 and Google Android. Other systems, though developing more slowly, still provide ample opportunities on the smartphone software development market. With the high speed development of various app development tools and creating smartphone apps, the whole smartphone application development process seems less complicated and is more efficient now than ever.

Smartphone Application Development Tools

Before being distributed to final users, Apple’s native iPhone apps are constructed with the help of Apple Objective C language using Xcode and then submitted to App Store. At the same time, there are a number of other third party development tools which allow development by means of other programming languages such as Lua, Javascript or Flash CS5. These third party tools support several features peculiar to the iPhone, namely multi touch input or accelerometer.

Applications for Blackberry can be built with the Blackberry JDE plug-in for Eclipse using the Java language. If the developer is not experienced enough in developing apps, there is an optional way of building apps using Javascript based Phonegap. Android is also Java based using Eclipse IDE with the Android Development Tools Plugin. Google doesn’t monitor apps which can be constructed for Android, yet it may remove any harmful app should it pose threat to the system operation.

Google Introduces Mobile Voice Translator

googleGoogle, the world’s leading company specializing in business application development has come up with a new app which could make the lives of many much easier, especially those trying to communicate abroad. The aforementioned app translates human speech in the real time and voices the translated version.

The Conversation Mode technology for Android 2.1 and higher is based on a combination of Google Voice and Google Translate.

15 languages are available for mobile devices in Google Voice and 53 in Google Translate.

Conversation Mode exists in the experimental version and supports only two languages: English and Spanish. After the user has said a phrase into a microphone, the app immediately retransmits in to different language. The words need to be pronounced clearly and accurately as the quality of translation is affected by accent, fast speech and background noise levels.

Google’s development is not entirely apt for business communication, yet it is invaluable for tourists when trying to communicate abroad who do not speak the language of a particular place or country. This is set to make the app a highly sought-after product.

Developers promise to actively enhance the technology. It was first showcased at the electronic product exhibition in Berlin in September last year.
